Creative Shoot at Tuck in Saint John, NB

After 8 years in Sydney Australia, I’m back in Canada where this flower journey all began for me. During my time in Sydney, one thing that became very clear is that a creative community was a really important part of running a small business. Having other creatives to bounce ideas off of, learn from, and share in the highs and lows that inevitably come with any creative pursuit. I was lucky enough to have had a supportive community of florists, photographers, stylists, ceramists, calligraphers, bakers…so many incredibly talented people in my industry that enriched my time and helped me grow as a florist and business owner.

Now that I’m based in New Brunswick, I wanted to find these like minded people on this side of the planet. I decided to plan a shoot as a way to meet and collaborate with some of the talented artists we have here. The first person I contacted was photographer, Nicole LaPierre from Halifax. I had been following her on Instagram, and loved her dreamy, romantic and thoughtful images. I knew she would be the only one who could capture my vision. We clicked instantly as we both share a deep love of beauty and creating. Nicole and I spent 2 days collaborating together and it left us both feeling so hopeful and inspired. We were incredibly lucky to shoot at Tuck, the most beautiful historic building in Saint John. Tuck is an interior design store owned by Judith Mackin, another inspiring creative and business owner. You can just feel the creative energy around Judith when you meet her! Other vendors include, Christopher James Hair stylist, Freedom Bridal, makeup by Sarah Jane, ceramics by Danika Vautour, stationary by Scribble and Script, cake by Just Iced Custom Cakes and chairs from Palmer Weddings and Events and we had the lovely Abigail Kierstead model for us.

I’m so excited to know all these new Atlantic Canada creatives and really grateful that they understood my vision and made it better than I had even imagined! THANK YOU to everyone involved x
