REVERDIE | France

Reverdie was a combination floral and photography workshop held in a 17th century Chateau just outside of Paris. Together with Courtney from Winsome Floral and Erin from Grace & Ardor Photography, we planned this incredibly special and memorable experience for our attendees. For 3 days, we stayed at the Chateau, sharing all meals prepared by a local chef. Each morning before class we were greeted with fresh pastries, quiche, yogurt and coffee, and endless baguettes and cheese throughout the day. All of our classes were held in the Chateau and there was even a day trip to Paris for the photography students. While the photographers were in Paris, the florists set up in the dining room for a day of bouquet and arrangement classes. The rain was gently falling outside and we were cozied up in a gorgeous room with the most beautiful flowers and new friends. The experience felt soft and slow, romantic and relaxing. Bouquets and arrangements take much more time than anyone would think because we all love to be really intentional with each stem and to practice new techniques, so we dedicated the entire day to working on these pieces and then photographing them on the property grounds. The next day we hit the ground running with a big day of design. Starting with a mantle demonstration, we then moved into our 2 group foam free installations. Our models and hair and makeup artists arrived and the Chateau was buzzing with inspiration from what we had all created together! To finish off our time, we had a beautiful final dinner with a chef prepared meal and endless bottles of wine. I’m still flying high from the memories of it all. Reverdie was such a special experience and a career highlight for me. There were so many people who were integral to the success of this workshop. We really couldn’t have done it without Ajna, our France based coordinator, or our tireless assistants, Brit, Brie and Jen. These 4 went above and beyond and we will never forget it!
